Is there a way I can see if my child likes baseball before committing to the season? 

Yes! We run free Try T-Ball / Try Baseball Days before the season begins. These events give children a chance to put on a glove, throw a ball, hit off a tee or live pitching, and meet our coaches before registering. Keep an eye on our website and social media channels for upcoming dates and times. 

My child has never played baseball before. Does that matter? 

Not at all! Beginners are always welcome. Our club places a strong emphasis on skill development, sportsmanship, and fun. Coaches tailor sessions so that brand-new players quickly pick up the basics and feel confident on the field. 

Is baseball open to both boys and girls? 

Absolutely! Kissing Point Angels is an inclusive club welcoming players of all genders and abilities. Girls and boys play together across all junior age groups, and there are also pathway opportunities for representative and girls-only competitions. 

What team will my child be placed in? 

Teams are formed based on age, experience level, and total registration numbers across the club. We also do our best to accommodate friend requests so children can play alongside schoolmates or mates from previous seasons. Equally we do our best to place families where they want siblings to play together, in the same team. 

As a general guide, age divisions are structured as follows: 

• T-ball - ages 4-7

• Coach Pitch - ages 8-10

• Rookie Live - ages 9-11

• Minors - ages 10-11

• Majors - ages 11-12

• Intermediate - ages 12-13

• Junior - ages 13-14

• Senior - ages 15-16

Does my child need to trial? 

No, most players do not need to trial and will be placed directly onto a team. 

Trials are typically only held for Division 1 teams (e.g., Majors) to ensure balanced, competitive play. Details regarding trial dates for Division 1 selection are communicated prior to the start of the season, and typically requires players to have played baseball before and be ready for a competitive style of play. 

Where and when are games played? 

Home Grounds: Our primary home ground is Auluba Oval in South Turramurra. 

Away Games: Played at neighboring clubs across the local association (generally within a 20–30 minute drive eg Wahroonga, Thornleigh, Cherrybrook, North Sydney). 

Game Times: Most junior games are played on Saturday mornings. Division 1 plays on Friday evenings. 

How long do games last? 

T-Ball: ~60 minutes 

Coach Pitch, Rookie Live & Minors: ~75 to 90 minutes 

Majors & Senior Divisions: ~90 to 120 minutes 

When is training? 

Training is held during the week at Auluba Oval, depending on your team coach's availability. 

Session Duration: Typically 60 to 90 minutes, starting around 4:30 pm or 5:00 pm. 

What equipment is provided, and what do I need to buy? 

Provided by the Club: 

• Shared field equipment (catchers gear, bats, helmets, bases, balls, batting tees). 

• Baseball pants for players in T-ball and Coach Pitch 

What Players Need to Provide: 

• Baseball Glove – New t-ball players are provided with a free glove, but all players need to provide their own glove. 

• White baseball pants – for Rookie Live division and above 

• Angels Cap (Available via the uniform shop) 

• Cleats / Moulded Football Boots (Recommended for safety on grass for kids rookie live and above) 

• Protective Cup (Mandatory for catchers, strongly recommended for all players of all ages) 

What is the difference between T-ball and baseball?

The primary difference is the way the ball is put into play, with T-ball using a "tee" to hit off rather than a pitcher throwing the ball. This serves as an introductory version of the game for beginners.

I have an older child who has never played sport, would there be space in a team for them?

Absolutely. We have lots of different skills levels across our teams, and welcome anyone wanting to learn new skills. We have lots of great drills and skills across the club to support older players who are starting out.

Do you have second item items for sale? 

Yes absolutely, we have a range of items including baseball pants, shirts, hats, mitts and cleats. Please come along to our Uniform Shop day to have a look at the selection. The dates for this are available on our website and socials. 

What are the 26/27 Season Dates 

Season starts on the weekend of 11/12 September. We follow the school holiday breaks and grand finals are typically in mid-March. 

How can parents get involved? 

Kissing Point Angels is run entirely by parent volunteers! Every team relies on family support to operate smoothly. 

Key volunteer roles for each team include: 

• Coach & Assistant Coach 

• Team Manager 

• Scorer 

Note: No prior baseball experience is needed for any of these roles! We provide coaches and scorers cheat sheets, as well as training and support for these roles, to get you comfortable! All coaches and key volunteers must complete a free Working With Children Check (WWCC). We have a head coach who can help support all our coaches in setting you up for success, and will have a clear support structure in place to provide all our coaches with the assistance they need.

 Are there finals at the end of the season? 

Yes! While junior T-Ball focuses strictly on participation and skill-building, older divisions (Rookie Live and above) play for competition points, leading into semi-finals and grand finals at the end of the season in March.
